The first 2/3 of this story reveal the enchanting story of a couple's unlikely adventure at sea. Their relationship develops when they are washed up on an island and taken in by two interesting characters who live in a seaside cottage. Unfortunately, the last third of the story is about as incoherent as any GLH novel I've ever read (over 20, by now). The author seemed at a loss on how to insert dramatic tension into the story. Even allowing for the cultural disparity of a bygone era, the heroine's venture into the world of filmmaking and acting merely provide a ridiculous plot twist that does not serve the story well.

I love her books, they are so well written and she puts the people into so many situations. Very entertaining and she is able to bring everything to a great conclusion. Never been disappointed in her stories.
I love any and all Grace Livingston Hill's books. But this was near the to the too if my favorites.
This is one of my favorite books of this author. Even though it is old fashioned in its story line it still tugs at your heart. Sometimes an old fashioned story is better then a new story.
The opening scene will grab your attention! Some of her stories do drag a bit and I wish they were novellas instead. However, this one clips along and was a pleasure from beginning to end. This far, after reading about 45 of her books, mostly in chronological order, this setting is unique. The romance is the same sweet relationship one grows to expect. I highly recommend.
Oh what a lovely story! One of Grace's funniest, actually. I have read so many of her books and this is one story I will never forget. How clever her characters are sketched, how wonderful the dialogue! One of my very favorite GLHs.
Grace Livingston Hill...great writer, great book. I don't have anything else to add that's not already been said, but Grace hardly ever disappoints. Her books are wholesome snatches of yesteryear and I'm so thankful someone has taken the time and effort to put them into eBook format!
GLH was the first Christian fiction author that I ever experienced. She was one of the first cfa's in general. Her audience is from a different time and purity in all matters and a faith in God areally strong components in all of her stories.
This is a nice story of heroics, duty, and blossoming love. My only con is that the hotel is almost always the "pure" one and the guy is usually always the one who has to change his ways.
